Well here we are in Pleasanton Ca at our christmas tree lot. The lot is now decorated and we are ready to go. John is having a great time learning how to flock a tree. For those of you who are unfamilar with flocking - You spray white stuff that resembles snow onto the trees- people go crazy for it. I am not sure if its a California thing or not. John and I would like to wish all of you a very joyous HOLIDAY and a Happy New Year. 2007 will take us to Mexico, and the Indy 500 race- Stay tuned......

Notice the trees on the ground the wind is not our friend- we will have the trees back on their feet again just in time for the wind to return- ahh the joys of the christmas

John has achieved the title of Master Flocker

Moving these flockers can be a real pain- By the way that is my Son who came to work for us this season

Bring on the customers we are ready

We are back in California for the holidays. We spent Halloween with my son and his family. It had been quite awhile since I went out with small children trick or treating- we had so much fun. Jeffery came away with a ton of candy, my first thought was glad I don't have to pay dental bills- Then I quickly relized- that thought made me feel so old- its halloween - let them eat chocolate!!! This Christmas season we are going to be managing a christmas tree lot in Pleasanton CA . This will be our 4th year doing this type of work and we really enjoy it, the families and most people are in great moods besides it is a really fun job- I will try to get some pictures posted of our tree lot. Until then stay safe and healthy.....

We finished crabbing and we did very well we will have crab well into next year!! We moved about 50 miles down the coast to Coos Bay the weather today has been beautiful with lots of sunshine. We drove to Charleston a small fishing community and found Sunset Bay State Beach with wonderful hiking trials and a beautiful bontanical gardens that we enjoyed this afternoon. We also stumbled on Sampsons Reef, where there were a ton of sea lions at least three different types. We ended up in Bandon for lunch at a small chowder house. Hello, This summer is going by way too fast. Our second grandchild was born July 1, and he is just as cute as can be. We visited our daughter in Sparks, NV and saw her new home met her boyfriends children. We were able to spend a considerable amount of time with John's Mom which we both enjoyed. We both have a clean bill of health and now our workkamping job is over on Sept 3 . It just does not get any better than that. The campground has be very slow, don't know if it has anything to do with fuel costs or the rising costs of camping fees, whatever it is we are very happy to hit the road!!! We are headed over to the coast of Oregon to do some crabbing with the Roving Rods a camping group we belong to. I can taste the dungeness crab now (YUMO) after that we may do Christmas Trees again this season and then will be in Q for the winter. I will post some pictures of our Oregon Adventure.
Hope you all have had a wonderful summer so far!!

Downtown Frankenmuth
Hello from Dearborn, MI where we went to Greenfield Village, which is part of the Henry Ford Complex. This is an outdoor museum of more than 300 years of history. The majority of the buildings are the actual buildings instead of reproductions. We saw re-creations and live demonstrations of American ingenuity and crafts. Includes, Thomas Edison, Wright Bros, Daniel Webster's home (creator of the Dictonary), the lost art of the tinsmith, glass blowing, pottery, weaving, etc. We took a ride in a Model T, Horse pulled Omnibus, Steam Train, and a Model A Bus we had a wonderful time at the park- hope you enjoy the pictures.

We took a ride in an actual 1916 model T.

This is the Thomas Edison Village. The brown house is Sarah Jordon's boarding house. The first house to be wired with electric.
